NJHMFA first-time homebuyer program
The NJ Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency offers first-time buyer mortgages with competitive rates plus down-payment and closing-cost assistance up to $15,000. Income limits and purchase-price restrictions apply.
Down payment assistance
NJ's program can provide up to $15,000 as a forgivable second mortgage — if you stay in the home for a set period (typically 5 years), the second mortgage is forgiven entirely.
